Question: I think the formula industry is getting over on us, w/ the “formula till 12 months” rule…?
if a baby can start eating table food at 6 to 9 months and that included cheese, meat, and other foods that are a job on the digestive track, then why do formula companies have us believing that babies can’t handle simple cows milk, with all the other stuff (including dairy) that you’ll feed them?

i think that the formula companies are paying off the doctors to make millions at our expense. i know quite a few mothers who broke this rule while adding nutritious foods to their babies diet and have very healthy babies.

i started my babies on cow’s milk at 9 months (after weaning from the breast, and along with their new “table food” diets) and neither of them showed any signs of stomach problems. they are 1 and 3 now and they are growing fine, and show no signs of illness from early introduction to cow’s milk.

i’m sure most/if not all of you are all for the “formula till age 1″ but really, if the kids is eating TABLE FOOD, they can definitely handle pasteurized, vitamin fortified, cow’s milk. do you agree or disagree?

I have my own opinions about cows milk, (I prefer soy and so does my child) but I would see nothing wrong with giving a child milk as soon as they can really eat table food. The reason they tell you not to give kids anything but baby food or formula or breast milk for the first year is because allergies develop more strongly before age one.

Question: Formula feed vs Breast feed, how often are your kids sick?
I keep hearing breast feed babies don’t get sick as often. My daughter is 2 months she has never really latched so we had to use formula along with me pumping. I usd to have an ok supply of milk and now barely any I only get drops when I do it.

What happened was my daughter started to make me hold her ALL the time (still does), so I can hardly ever put her down to pump, and when I do get some time then I have to wash and sterilize bottles. I just never have time so my supply is WAY down.

My husband said “just stop u’r not getting any anyway and she is fine on the formula” I kinda want to cause it would take alot of pressure off me but at the same time want to try to do it more and get my supply back, I am scared to give up cause if she is sick alot I am gonna blame myself.

How did u feed ur babies/kids and how often are they sick?

I breast feed and my daughter got her first cold at 2 weeks old :-( , she caught it before I did though so she wouldn’t have got any antibodies from me.

EDIT* I just read your question properly, the only reson y they say that breastfed babies don’t get sick as often is because they get the antibodies from you from cold’s you’ve already hd, they still get sick though.

Question: to all moms that formula feed?
ok this mom called ” do your own thinking” just answered a question that someone posted about formula and ” do your own thinking” called formula “inferior food” . Im sorry but breast fed babies r in no way better to formula fed babies. That really bothered me that she would say that. My 2 girls r formula fed and they r smart, happy and healthy, even though they eat the so-called “inferior food” Oh, by the way, just because you breast feed does not make you better than someone who formula feeds. Does anyone else agree? It just seems like everyone on hear that breast feeds feels like they r superior to everyone else. When in fact everyone is the same because we ALL ARE MOMS

That’s right we all are moms and should be supporting each other not nit picking at who’s better than who! In the end as long as our babies are well fed and healthy that’s all that should matter!

Question: Any Indiana Mothers need Formula?
I have soo many cans of formula. I mean TONS!!! I do believe a total of 40 cans. Its Similac Neosure. If interested please leave an comment here or email me too.

Make the subject
“Neosure Formula”

Im selling it for around $ 5.00 a can because I know some people could definately use it, especially cheap. Since Neosure is around 14-18 $ a can depending on the stores.

Thank you.

Just to let you know. My Email address is

Baby_girl4201613@yahoo.com
Also just letting you know this is not WIC formula. I keep that for my son. :)
Again, I didnt recieve it through WIC.

I had bought the Formula before I even heard of WIC. When my son was born he was a premature infant and When he was born I was suggested not to change him to Neosure due to the fact of him being so tiny and having digestion problems. I really didnt understand it because Neosure is for babys who are bad at gaining weight.

Question: Is it okay to be proud if my daughter will never taste formula?
I was at my mom’s house and I expressed a bottle to bring along. My mom’s friend was there (she breastfed 4 boys) and I heated the bottle so her friend could feed little Julia. She said something about formula and I said “that’s breastmilk, Julia has never had formula!”
My mom’s friend was like “Wow that’s great”

My thing is, I will feel so proud if my baby never has formula. To me it is an accomplishment.
I think it is rare nowadays that a baby has never tasted formula?
Is anyone else proud that their baby will never/has never had to have formula?

Answer:

Answer by Apple Juice
Yea someone asked me what kind of formula my son was drinking, I said “this is breastmilk” But don’t hold your breath. He is now 8 months old and no longer has the time to nurse since he is too busy crawling around and getting into stuff, so I had to put him on formula so that he would eat!! I’ve heard this happens to a lot of people. But yes, I feel great knowing that I gave my son that gift for as long as I could.
